Terra Barrett is a public folklorist with the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador. She is researching the history, folklore and oral history of the province, and working on the Collective Memories project. Previously for HFNL, Terra conducted fieldwork in Petty Harbour including interviews with residents about their memories, stories and experience while growing up in Petty Harbour. Terra holds a BA in Folklore / French and a MA in Public Folklore from Memorial University. She volunteers with a number of organizations and is particularly interested in the crafts, foodways and folk beliefs of the province. Terra is a proud Newfoundlander and loves being able to give back to a community by showcasing the province’s history, stories, customs and crafts.
