Robert Shipley

Professor Robert Shipley (retired) was Associate Director of the School of Planning, University of Waterloo for 20 years and Director of the Heritage Resources Centre for 13 years. He is a former Research Fellow of Oxford Brookes University, England and is recognized as a leading international expert on culture, heritage and tourism and the economics of heritage development. He was a former VP of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals and recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012. For five years Shipley was Associate Editor of the journal Planning Practice and Research and is a Project Evaluator for the European Science Council and the Norwegian Science Council.
