Jamie Brake

For the past 9 years Jamie Brake has served the Inuit of northern Labrador as the Nunatsiavut Government’s Archaeologist.  He holds a BA and an MA in archaeology and is currently completing PhD studies through Memorial University, focusing on the development of heritage policy and legislation for Nunatsiavut.  He is the current president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Archaeological Society, he is a member of the Museums Association of Newfoundland and Labrador’s board of directors, and co-chair of Canada’s National Archaeological Data Managers Committee.  Jamie is also a practicing musician and a proud member of the community of Nain’s volunteer fire brigade.
